In a loaded finals field, Nathan Adrian emerged as the winner in the men's 100-meter freestyle at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Swimming in Omaha, Neb. Friday night. It was a tightly contested race, with the top-seven all finishing within 0.82 seconds of each other.

Cullen Jones took second, while Matt Grevers came in third.

Ricky Berens and Jimmy Feigen finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Jason Lezak, only in the finals after Ryan Lochte scratched the event, came in sixth place -- the whole half-dozen qualified for the Olympics, with Grevers and Berens being assured of a relay spot on Team USA.

The top-two finishers will swim the 100m free in London, while all of the top-six advance for the 4x100m free team relay. The finals in the men's 100m free in London is scheduled for August 1.
