We've played one quarter in London, and Team USA has a 22-21 lead on France in the opener of the 2012 Olympics for both teams. Team USA tried to deliver a knockout punch early, but France has stuck with them and is very much in the game.
Team USA got off to a fast start, forcing turnovers and getting out in transition. Their early run was punctuated by this full-court bounce pass from LeBron James to Kevin Durant for a layup.
However, France settled down towards the end of the first quarter and got back into the game. Tony Parker, playing with goggles due to his recent eye injury, found success getting into the lane and breaking Team USA's defense down. Meanwhile, Team USA's offense sputtered a bit late in the first quarter, with Deron Williams in particular struggling once he entered the game.
Durant has seven points to lead Team USA, while Parker has six to lead France. The game has lacked rhythm, with lots of foul calls mucking up continuous play. That style benefits France, because it prevents Team USA from getting into the open floor.
