Arndt finished 37th out of 40 cyclists who completed the women's road race. Despite the distant finishing placement, she was only 59 seconds behind gold medalist Marianne Vos. Arndt's final time was 3:36:28. She was in the hunt halfway through the race, but faded a bit in the second half.

Agliotti's Dutch team beat Belgium, 3-0, in their opening game. Agliotti didn't take any shots on goal. Paumen (the team's captain) and Dirkse van den Heuvel each took two corner penalty shots but didn't convert.
