The 2012 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caracas, Venezuela continued on Tuesday, but all was not good for the home team. After defeating Nigeria on Monday night, Venezuela was unable to overcome Lithuania. Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to a 100-82 victory in Tuesday's finale with 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Greivis Vasquez led Venezuela with 24 points, but as a whole his team shot just 43.8 percent to Lithuania's 57.1
In other Tuesday action, Al Horford's 30 points and Jack Michael Martinez's 25 rebounds led the way for a Dominican Republic 95-85 victory over Korea, a team now eliminated from Olympic contention. The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia defeated New Zealand easily, 84-62.
Puerto Rico dispatched Jordan, 93-52, in the other game of the day. Jordan shot 29 percent from the field while Puerto Rico hit on nearly 52 percent of its shots. Peter Ramos led Puerto Rico with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jordan is also out after losing its second game.
Play continues on Wednesday with the late game of Puerto Rico versus Greece perhaps the top match of the day.
