Team USA Vs. Tunisia Score Update: Americans Open Up 46-33 Lead At Halftime

Stay connected with SB Nation

Team USA is not playing its best basketball, but the U.S. team seems to have opened up a comfortable lead over upstart Tunisia at halftime of Tuesday's pool-play game at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. After falling behind in the first quarter, Team USA has rallied and now leads, 46-33, at halftime.

As usual, LeBron James led the way. He enforced his will on the game without scoring, getting Team USA going with a chasedown block and a thunderous dunk on the fast break. Kevin Durant has nine points to lead Team USA, while Carmelo Anthony chipped in with seven off the bench. Tunisia's Makram Ben Romdhane leads all scorers with 11 points.

Team USA has gotten into trouble when it has relied too heavily on the 3-point shot. In this game, the Americans have hit just two of their 12 attempts from downtown, which has mitigated a 77 percent performance on 2-point shots. Tunisia, meanwhile, has used the 2-point shot to stay within striking distance, shooting 7-for-16 from beyond the arc.
