Team USA had a historic night shooting the ball against Nigeria on Thursday. However, the team seems to have fallen in love with the three-pointer. It almost cost them against Lithuania Saturday, and could cost them yet if they don't tone it down.

Team USA Vs. Lithuania Final Score: LeBron James Saves Americans In 99-94 Win

With less than six minutes remaining, Team USA was in jeopardy of a shocking loss to Lithuania in the fourth game of the preliminary round of the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament. Then, LeBron James took over. The Miami Heat star scored nine points down the stretch, and the Americans held on for a 99-94 win that was competitive throughout.

Team USA took a six-point lead after three quarters, but Lithuania responded with a 9-2 run to take a two-point advantage on a three-pointer by Linas Kleiza with seven minutes remaining in the game. Lithuania maintained that advantage for a couple minutes, but Chris Paul hit a critical three-pointer with 5:39 remaining to allow Team USA to regain the lead. Then, James took over, hitting a three-pointer and dunking on the fast break to push Team USA's lead back to six points with three and a half minutes remaining.

Team USA finally polished off Lithuania a minute later. James missed a three-pointer, but Paul grabbed the rebound and passed to Deron Williams in midair for an open three-pointer. Then, after a Lithuania turnover, James drove past Darius Songaila and hit a lefty layup to give Team USA a nine-point lead with 2:10 remaining.

James finished with 20 points in the game. Carmelo Anthony added 20 points for Team USA, and Kevin Durant added 16. Linas Kleiza led all scorers with 25 points for Lithuania, while former Duke reserve Martynas Pocius added 14.

Team USA moves to 4-0 and regained control of Group A. Lithuania falls to 1-3, but they should still make the quarterfinals with a win over lowly Tunisia on Monday.

Team USA Vs. Lithuania Score Update: Game Remains Close After 3 Quarters

One would have expected Team USA to storm out of the locker room and take control of its preliminary-round game in the Olympics against Lithuania after a closer-than-expected first half. Well, so much for that. Instead, it was Lithuania that kept the pressure on, and it only trails, 78-72, after three quarters in London.

Team USA led by four points at halftime, but Lithuania scored the first five points of the half to take a one-point lead. Team USA rallied to regain the lead, stepping up its defensive pressure, but poor shooting has kept this game close. Team USA has missed 12 of its 31 free throws and has made just two of its last 17 three-point attempts.

Linas Kleiza continues to lead Lithuania with 16 points, but has been quiet since the first quarter. Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and LeBron James have all scored in double figures for Team USA.

Team USA Vs. Lithuania Score Update: Americans Lead By Just 4 At Halftime

The story at halftime of Team USA's game against Lithuania is the same as it was after the first quarter. Team USA continues to score fairly easily, but Lithuania is hanging around, trailing just 55-51 at halftime of the fourth of five preliminary games for both teams in the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament.

Team USA is not as hot as it was against Nigeria, but it's still shooting around 48 percent from the field. However, Lithuania is getting whatever it wants as well, both in half-court sets and in transition. Lithuania is shooting 56 from the field and closed the half strong to cut the deficit down to four.

Linas Kleiza has 16 points to lead Lithuania, though he did most of his damage in the first quarter. Carmelo Anthony has 14 points to lead Team USA, while Kevin Durant added nine points.

We've played one quarter in London, and Team USA holds a 33-25 lead on Lithuania in its fourth of five preliminary-round games in the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament. Carmelo Anthony has not cooled off since setting the US Olympics scoring record against Nigeria, as he has 10 points, including a buzzer-beating three to push Team USA's lead to eight points.

Team USA looks pretty sharp offensively, but Lithuania has stayed in the game with strong offense itself. In particular, Linas Kleiza is carrying the team. The Toronto Raptors' forward leads all scorers with 13 points on 4-7 shooting. Future Raptors teammate Jonas Valanciunas had just two points and zero rebounds in just over five minutes of play.

Seven different Team USA players have scored in the game. Anthony leads the way with 10 points, and Kevin Durant has added six. Chris Paul added four points, two assists and two rebounds.
