Seimone Augustus, USA, Basketball
Team USA blasted Canada in the quarterfinals, 91-48. Augustus had 9 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. They play Australia in the semifinals.

Edward Gal, Netherlands, Equestrian
Gal pulled out a bronze medal in team Dressage on Tuesday with his horse, Undercover. Gal is headed into the individual finals on Wednesday.

Carl Hester, Great Britain, Equestrian
Hester became the first out athlete to win a gold medal in these Games with a first-ever Dressage team gold for Great Britain. Hester and his teammates, Laura Bechtolsheimer and Charlotte Dujardin, beat perennial powerhouse Germany to snatch the gold medal.

Alexandra Lacrabere, France, Handball
The French lost to Montenegro, 23-22, in the quarterfinals. Montenegro scored the game-winning shot with one second remaining in regulation. Lacrabere scored 3 goals on 8 shots.

Mayssa Pessoa, Brazil, Handball
Brazil lost to an inferior Norwegian team, 21-19, giving up two unanswered goals in the final five minutes of the game. Pessoa did not play in the game.
