Tim McCarver's birthday cake presentation was an important moment in history

Cake, golf, cardboard boxes: All the ingredients to a wonderful birthday.

Wednesday was Tim McCarver's 72nd birthday. Happy birthday, Tim McCarver! For his birthday, Fox presented McCarver with a cake during the Red Sox-Tigers Game 4 broadcast. Or, more specifically, a hulking, bearded PA delivered a cake and a few important things happened.

1. McCarver said this:

Yeah, we can believe it. A cardboard box is a pretty standard container for a store-bought cake, Mr. McCarver. We can only assume this is an inside joke you have with yourself that you assumed we all understood.

2. The overeager cake-bearer helped McCarver blow out his candles without EVER BEING INVITED TO DO SO:

3. McCarver went on to offer his thoughts on Twitter and questionable golf etiquette. Fox had a graphic ready for the latter topic:

This, mind you, was during Game 4 of the American League Championship Series. It was an A-plus Tim McCarver birthday celebration.
