LSU football coach Les Miles likes to eat grass.
Russell Shepard: "I see him do it every day. That’s Coach Miles. He eats that grass. I guess he says it has a lot of protein."— Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) November 7, 2010
Home Depot has a pretty good joke on the matter. There's even a dedicated page just for Les Miles grass care. Make sure you get the good kind, though:
(Synthetic turf) is not nearly as tasty. I played baseball when I was a young man, I played football, and I always seemed to enjoy a blade or two every now and then. Not that it was a meal in any way. As a kid I'd have some and leave it there for a while. Traditionally I'll put my knee on the ground and look for a blade now and then.
Trying names like Nick Saban, Johnny Manziel, or Jadeveon Clowney in Home Depot's search bar only brings up guesses at what you're trying to spell (which explains why "Clowney" yields toilets -- Colony is a bathroom appliance brand).
Miles, asked about the grass in renovated Tiger Stadium: "I think it's ripe, if you will." #SECBeachFest— Mike Herndon (@TheMikeHerndon) August 25, 2012
