Oakland Raiders face another 3rd and very, very long

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

An absurd amount of yards needed for a first down and the Oakland Raiders. It's a perfect marriage.

The Oakland Raiders have been the subject of much folly over the last decade of football, and they're still trying to shed that poor reputation as of 2013. Facing the 2-6 New York Giants on Sunday, the Raiders faced 3rd-and-40.

But that's nothing. It was only about a month ago that we posted a similar story about a team.

It was the Oakland Raiders and the amount needed for a first down was 48 yards. You'd think that with their experience on long third downs that completing this would have been easy for the Raiders but alas they fell short and had to punt.
