The Red Sox lost the game, but won the all-important Twitter burn battle

Social media smackdown!

The Red Sox lost 2-1 to the Rays Monday night, dropping just below Tampa in the AL East standings as a result. The organization didn't take a sweep for the evening, though, for when some Tampa social media manager pointed out that Fenway Park's scoreboard didn't yet reflect the new standings, some Boston social media manager swung back with a potent attendance zinger. OHHHHHHHHHHH.

One day, this will be sport. Teams will compete only through Twitter.

So, anyway...tie?
