On Saturday morning's College Gameday, ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit repeatedly and emphatically picked Toledo to beat Florida in the Swamp. Florida won handily, building a 17-3 halftime lead and riding its defense to a 24-6 victory.
When asked after the game about Herbstreit's pick, Florida defensive lineman Dominique Easley dismissed it ... but not for the reason you might expect:
Informed that Kirk Herbstreit picked Toledo, UF's Dominique Easley says, "I don't listen to him. He probably never played football."— Jason Lieser (@PBPjasonlieser) August 31, 2013
This is not the first time that Easley has missed a basic fact of college football history. At SEC Media Days, he had no idea who Bear Bryant was:
Not a joke: Dominique Easley was asked a question about Bear Bryant & didn't recognize the name. He asked if it was some kind of cartoon.— Jason Lieser (@PBPjasonlieser) July 16, 2013
Easley had a sack against the Rockets, for what it's worth.
