Sochi's Opening Ceremony features giant, stoned bear

This bear has the right approach to the patriotic psychedelia of Sochi's Opening Ceremony.

As with all Olympic Opening Ceremonies, Sochi's opening event is a grandiose and frankly insane bit of patriotic psychedelia. There is no one in the world who would blame a viewer for attempting to enhance the experience with, um, experience-enhancing substances. But for those participating in it, a higher standard has to be in play. See, this is just unprofessional:

For all the talk about the stray dogs at these #Flawless Winter Olympics, why have we not noted the widespread recreational drug use among large bear mascots? Sad proof that, where costumed mascots are concerned, this sort of behavior is not confined merely to those attempting to deal with George O'Leary's personality.
