Help us suggest movies for Bret Bielema to counter Rich Rodriguez's 'Speed' spoof with

The people now demand the Arkansas head coach spoof himself into 2001: A Space Odyssey.

College football coaches are currently squabbling over a NCAA rule proposal that up-tempo offenses should have to wait 10 seconds before snapping the ball.

A handful, like Arkansas' Bret Bielema and Alabama's Nick Saban, have argued that speed puts players at risk. But, with a lack of solid evidence, most coaches don't want to be told what they can and can't do.

So let's recommend some properly paced films (slow ones, you see) for use in Bielema's eventual retort (emphasis on "eventual"):

  • Apocalypse Now (The Long-ass Version with the Rich French People in the Middle of Nowhere [not official title])
  • Brick
  • Broken Flowers
  • The English Patient
  • The Fountain
  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
  • Lost in Translation
  • The Machinist
  • Rear Window
  • Seven Samurai
  • The Seventh Seal
  • Solaris
  • The Thin Red Line
  • The Tree of Life
  • There Will Be Blood
Also, if we're being literal:
  • The Day the Earth Stood Still
  • Slow
  • Slow Burn
  • The Slowest Gun in the West
  • Standing Still
Your turn. Please help a Bert out.

Also also, this is at least the third movie Rodriguez and company have made at Arizona. Consider it a conclusion to the Hard Edge trilogy (see parts one and two of the Western classic).
