Taking a metal pole to the beans does not seem ideal.
There are about 70 trillion things that cause extreme pain on an ice hockey rink. There are sharp ice skates, huge hockey players, and a puck that can fly over 100 miles an hour.

AAAAAAAAAH. That's former Toronto Maple Leaf Leo Komarov of Finland going STRAIGHT into the post, which, to Komarov's dismay, didn't give even a little bit. However, he doesn't wince or show pain or anything, he just gets up and gets right back to hockey playing like he didn't just take a metal pole to the groin.
Finland won 3-0, so it was worth the pain.
