Air Force dad surprises son during Royals first pitch

He had been gone for a year, and came back for this lovely moment.

Young Royals' fan Austin Sides threw out the first pitch of the Royals' game on Tuesday night. He was not aware his father, Air Force Major Robert Sides, was behind the plate to receive it after returning from a year-long tour of duty:

Any of y'all would cry your eyes out too if it happened to you. No one will judge you if you do so now just watching it.

Austin's face just lights up when he realizes it's dad underneath all that over-sized catchers' gear.

Good on you, Royals. I hope you provided tissues for the first 10,000 fans in the park.
