There are a billion Internet conspiracy theories surrounding LeBron James' free agency decision. However, perhaps the most notable is that the police in LeBron's town are beefing up security around his house:
Sources confirm police/security will be stepped up this afternoon at LeBron's house ahead of THE ANNNOUNCEMENT LATER TODAY #CourtingLeBron— Bob Jones WEWS (@bobjonesTV) July 10, 2014
Indeed, they were outside his house:
(Yes, LeBron lives in a place called Bath, and the cops there are the Bath Police. COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP, ILLEGAL SUDSING! BRING OUT YOUR DUCK FRIEND TOO)
Anyway: when you start publicizing the fact that cops are going to be some place to prevent overzealous fan reactions, it actually just ends up alerting everybody to the fact that that is the place where fan reactions will be. So a slew of reporters -- and even a few fans -- headed over.

Hey, look, even a few fans!

However, nothing's really happening. Even when we think something is going to happen, like the 3:30 announcement of his new team, it doesn't actually happen.
So this just led to the reporters outside LeBron's home reporting all the nothingness that was happening. We need to give a shout-out to Mary Kilpatrick, the Cleveland.com reporter who got asked to stand on a street outside LeBron's house where nothing was happening and make something out of it, for having fun with the process.

Dammit, The Man On The Golf Cart was Chris Broussard's source.

Meanwhile, LeBron? He's in Vegas.
We'll keep you updated when -- if? -- something happens.
