If Eli Manning never completes another NFL pass, his legacy is set: he was the Giants' QB for two Super Bowl wins, and was the triggerman on one of the most iconic plays in NFL history. But after leading the league in interceptions last year and finishing 32nd in completion percentage amongst qualifying QBs, he might not be that great anymore.
Which led to a SportsNation poll with a very predictable answer:
In no state -- even the state represented by the team Eli Manning plays quarterback for or the state Eli Manning is from -- do people think Eli Manning is elite. (Sorry, ELIte.) In fact, they couldn't even bring themselves to say that Manning had ever been elite at any point in time, even with the Super Bowl titles and stuff.
