The Mexico and Northern Ireland under-19's were playing in the Milk Cup when it all went very, very wrong. Some rough play saw players get upset, yelling and pushing, but then it took a turn for the worse.
A simple shove became a throw to the ground, then players tried sticking their studs on others and finally, one Mexico player took a run up before unleashing a vicious kick to the head of a prone Northern Ireland player.
And it is that Mexico player who is going to be facing a very long suspension. FIFA may hand it to him, or it may be Mexico, but he will be lucky to see the pitch any time in the near future.
Brawls always seem like fun and notable -- after all, they're usually just pushing and shoving -- but when it turns ugly like this, it starts getting scary. And when the participants are all barely legal or younger, it's especially horrific.
