It's been a while since we've seen a good old fashioned choking on during a sporting game. Thankfully Aussie Rules came through for us.
North Melbourne and Hawthorne were locked in a close game in the third quarter when a dust up between two players escalated quickly. Brian Lake of Hawthorne threw his opponent to the ground and went full Sprewell, choking him for an astonishingly long time before teammates and umpires broke it up.
Perhaps the best part of this is the commentators nonplussed reaction. They're not really outraged or astonished, in fact they're more concerned whether to call it a "sleeper hold" or a "headlock" -- this was neither.
