Cam Newton’s play isn’t quite what it was last season, but his fashion has definitely been on point this season. Or not, depending on your taste in fashion. Either way, he’s been wearing a variety of hats and outfits that are often a postgame discussion topic.
Newton wore a purple hat and checkered suit to the Panthers’ game against Washington on Monday night. ESPN’s Lisa Salters said on the broadcast that Newton never got a chance to meet Craig Sager, but admired that he wore what he wanted to wear.
Salters said Newton told her, “I wanted to wear something in honor of Craig this weekend that was going to be bold just like Craig was.” That’s exactly what Newton did.
Newton’s coat covered up the suit for the most part, but he was seen wearing the outfit prior to their game against Washington.

The Panthers were able to get the win over Washington, moving them to 6-8 on the season.
Newton’s tribute to Sager was a great one, and surely he feels great being able to go back to Carolina with a win as well.
