The New England Patriots opened up the preseason on Thursday and did so without Tom Brady. Brady is away from the team attending a funeral, but even if he didn't have other obligations, the team would still be preparing to be without him while he serves a four-game suspension to start the season.
Even though he isn't with the team and won't be the first four games, there is no lack of support from the organization. Prior to the preseason opener, the New England cheerleaders and junior cheerleaders spelled out B-R-A-D-Y on the field.
Dance team just spelled "Brady." Only time we'll see Brady on the field tonight. pic.twitter.com/uqqs4cOqht

The Patriots' support of Brady has never waned and this is just the latest example. Before his suspension was overturned prior to last season, the Patriots had planned to unveil a Brady banner should he have not been able to play in the season opener.
Maybe New England will have an even bigger tribute in store for the regular season.
