Tim Duncan retired in July and it appears he's fully settled into his new lifestyle. Duncan has never been flashy and now that he's not contractually obligated to do things, it seems he has no intention to do much of anything. He didn't even hold a retirement press conference.
Some people retire and set out to travel. Having just retired a month ago, the Rio Olympics are a prime event to travel to if you're into that sort of thing. Duncan is not, even if the President of the United States asks. Duncan's former teammate relayed a story that President Obama offered Duncan the chance to accompany him to Rio. That's a rare opportunity, even for someone like Duncan. Still not enough to entice him though. Via Sports Illustrated:
"And it's funny that he was offered an opportunity to fly here with the President of the United States, and he discussed it with me and I'm like, 'You're going, right?' He was like, 'You know I'm not about that stuff.' Even that moment where you'd say, 'I sure would like to be a part of that,' it doesn't happen with Tim because he's not concerned with that stuff."
We're never going to see Tim Duncan again. He's too busy doing anything but being in the spotlight.
