The Twins gave it a go in the bottom of the ninth, as Joe Mauer led off with a base hit and Delmon Young then got ahead in the count 2-1, but Young grounded into a 6-4-3 double play on the next pitch, and a Jim Thome pop out to left sealed the deal. A game the Twins led early on got away from them, and the Yankees are going home with a chance to put this series away in the minimum.
