Late Monday night - or very, very early Tuesday morning, whichever you prefer - Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy collapsed near a set of elevators in the hotel lobby at the Winter Meetings.
Tracy was alert and responsive when emergency teams showed up and was able to stand under his own power, but he was still placed in a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital for further examination. And after a night full of tests, there's good news - Tracy's doctors have ruled out anything serious. It certainly seems that, while this was a scary episode, it will end up being no big deal.
Tracy is currently resting comfortably at the hospital as he continues to be evaluated. The current manager of the Rockies and the former manager of the Pirates and Dodgers will turn 55 years old on New Year's Eve.
