First off, this is so not an original idea ... Bill James came up with the game, and my friend Dave Mlodinoff came up with the term "surnacronyms." Anyway, the game is to turn baseball player's last names into acronyms. The last time I did this was some years ago, and a bunch of the players (Terrence Long) you probably don't even remember. Here's what I came up with for Captain Derek Jeter:
Just
Exists
To
Enrage
Rationalists
A few more after the jump, and I hope this gives you something to chew on while waiting for the modest little sporting event later this weekend ...
Chone Figgins: Flexible Infielder, Good Glove, Is Not Slow (Mlodinoff came up with this one)
Craig Biggio: Began In Gear, Grew Into Outfielder
Jason Giambi: Grew In Artificial Manner By Injection (Mlodinoff)
and this, from someone named Dwight, tickled me ...
Mr. Met: Mascot Representing Most Exciting Team
Your turn.
