Mets' Santana Insists Rehab On Schedule

According to this report, the Mets are/were on the verge of shutting down Johan Santana's rehab program, and perhaps killing the chances of him pitching at some point this season.

Not so fast, says Santana:

"... It's just part of the process. It's pretty slow. You're going to have some soreness. You're going to feel different. But you have to go through that because that's what rehab is all about."

I don't know that any of this really matters. It's not like the Mets are going to win anything this year. All that really matters is to get Santana healthy for 2012, the earliest possible season during which the Mets might look like contenders. And he's signed through 2013 for a large amount of drachmas.
