Mariners' Jack Wilson Ticketed For Second Base?

Geoff Baker on some hot Mariner keystone news:

Wow, here's a bit of news out of spring training. It's not official yet, but it seems the Mariners are about to name Brendan Ryan their Opening Day shortstop. Jack Wilson would presumably go to second base.

Yes, presumably. And Wilson will presumably keep hitting like a weak-hitting shortstop.

Which won't be some terrible tragedy. The Mariners are going to win more games this year than last year. A lot more, maybe. But they're not going to win the division and Wilson's on the payroll (for $5 million), so he might as well keep the position warm -- okay, lukewarm -- until prospect Dustin Ackley's ready to take over.
