The baseball season nears, and players are reporting to Spring Training. Every year, these month-long camps offer young men a chance to make friends, build campfires, and most importantly, learn how to tie knots. Everyone gets homesick eventually, though. Presenting the fifth in a month-long series called, "Letters From Spring Training."
Having lived in two different baseball towns as a kid, I have two favorite teams. One of them is the Royals, who hold the second-longest active playoff drought in major American sports. As you can see from these letters, Spring Training is a particularly depressing affair.
