Who can figure this game out? Do the Vegas oddsmakers understand this better than we all do?

The Los Angeles Dodgers went 9-5 without MVP candidate Matt Kemp, then when they get him back they lose a couple games in a row.

Now Kemp's hurt again. Could that possibly be good news for LA and people betting on it?

The Dodgers and reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw went off as -160 favorites Wednesday night vs. Yovani Gallardo and Milwaukee. But Kershaw couldn't get out of the sixth inning, giving up five runs, as the Brewers went on to a 6-3 victory.

So on the season, Kershaw and Justin Verlander, last year's AL Cy Young winner, have seen their teams go a combined 13-9 in their starts, but they've together lost a total of $320, based on theoretical $100 wagers on each game.

Also going down Wednesday was the biggest favorite on the MLB betting board, the Texas Rangers, who with Derek Holland on the mound went off as heavy -220 chalk, then got rocked by the Seattle Mariners 21-8.

For the day, baseball favorites went 8-7 but lost $170. Also Wednesday baseball's totals leaned toward the 'overs' by a 9-5-1 margin. So that's seven out of the last eight days that baseball has seen more 'overs' come in than 'unders.'

Here's a look at Thursday's limited MLB betting board, with starting pitchers and betting trends, and odds courtesy of Oddsshark.com.
