Washington Nationals Unveil Steve Urkel And His Strike-Throwing Invention

Stay connected with SB Nation

On Saturday, the Washington Nationals hosted the New York Yankees in the second game of a big interleague series. Luckily, the Nationals brought out the big guns right from the get-go, as they had world-famous actor Jaleel White throw out the first pitch. White, who has raked it in at the box office in recent years with hits like Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus and Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, also had some moderate success in television in the 1990s.

White, better known to some as Steve Urkel from the sitcom Family Matters, threw out a reported perfect strike for the first pitch. Brett Hannons provided the world with a picture of the famous actor in his custom Nationals jersey.

This is a big get for the Nationals. Certainly the metropolitan Washington area has no shortage of world-class celebs. Among those scheduled to throw out first pitches over the remainder of the season include Stefan Urquelle, Myrtle Urkel, Cornelius Eugene Urkel and Urkel-Bot.
