The American League finished off its ninth-straight interleague season series victory over the National League this weekend, taking nine of 14 series and 22 of the 42 games played.

The Yankees led the way, winning two of three games vs. the Mets at Citi Field. The Yanks clinched the series Sunday night, solving the riddle that is Mets knuckleballer RA Dickey in a 6-5 victory.

Also on the AL side of the ledger, the Rays took two of three games in Philly; the last-place Twins took two of three games at first-place Cincy; the Orioles took two of three from the Nationals; the Angels did the same to the Dodgers; and the Red Sox did likewise to the Braves.

Most notably for the National Leaguers, the Pirates won two of three games vs. the Tigers.

For the season, AL teams went 142-110 vs. NL teams.

Pittsburgh enters a series with the Phillies starting Monday, sitting just one game back of the first-place Reds in the NL Central.

Looking ahead to Monday's slate of games Hiroki Kuroda and the Yankees are -185 faves over Josh Tomlin and the Indians; Jake Peavy and the White Sox are -115 road chalk at Minnesota and Francisco Liriano; and Barry Zito and the Giants, who trail Los Angeles by three games in the NL West, are -110 favorites over Nathan Eovaldi and the Dodgers.
