Chipper Jones weighs in on deer antler extract, finally

Kevin C. Cox

Sport's most deer-adept athlete doesn't know what deer antler extract is, so why the f--- should you?

Deer antler extract has been in the news. Both Ray Lewis and Alabama football, among others, have been named as having something or other to do with deer antler extract. It appears to be a fancy placebo thing, like shark blood or ram eyes or snow peas (I don't know if anybody actually ingests any of those things).

But if even Chipper Jones himself, Major League Baseball's lord of deer, doesn't know what it is or what it does, that's all the proof I need that there's nothing to the stuff.

Also, yes, Ray Lewis is gonna play.
