Tigers vs. Red Sox ALCS Game 1 score update: Boston hitless through four, game tied at 0-0

Jared Wickerham

Anibal Sanchez has fanned nine through four innings.

Jon Lester and Anibal Sanchez have both pitched extremely well, leaving the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers locked in a scoreless tie, as the scoreboard remains at 0-0 through four innings in Game 1 of the ALCS.

Austin Jackson lined a one-out single against Lester, but the southpaw forced Torii Hunter to hit into a 6-4-3 double play, ending the top of the third.

Sanchez worked his first clean frame in the bottom half of the third, recording his six strikeout of the game against Shane Victorino to lead off the inning. The Tigers starter only threw 10 pitches to record three outs after throwing 50 through the first two innings.

Lester had no problems with the heart of the Detroit lineup, retiring Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez in order during the top of the fourth.

Sanchez struck out the side in the bottom of the fourth, giving him nine strikeouts through 12 outs. Mike Napoli was the starter's seventh strikeout victim, rung up on another close call on a check swing:
