NLCS Game 3, Cardinals vs. Dodgers score update: St. Louis, Los Angeles scoreless through 2

Stephen Dunn

Hyun-jin Ryu hasn't been good early in games, but that hasn't been an issue thus far in Game 3.

Hyun-jin Ryu has set down seven of eight batters for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are locked in a scoreless tie with the St. Louis Cardinals after two innings in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Monday.

Ryu's strong start is significant because of his tendency to struggle his first time through opposing lineups this season. The 26-year-old rookie posted a combined 5.10 ERA in the first inning of his starts and he wasn't much better in his lone postseason outing before tonight, surrendering a pair of runs to the Atlanta Braves in the first inning on Oct. 6.

Ryu has has given up a walk and fanned two batters in two hitless innings.

Adam Wainwright gave up a broken-bat single to Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who was a game-time decision after a CT scan revealed a fractured rib earlier on Monday. Ramirez's hit didn't result in any damage against Wainwright, who has notched a pair of strikeouts.
