Pete Kozma makes a nice bare-handed play

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Pete Kozma didn't make an error in two fielding chances in the seventh inning. That alone is progress.

Maybe Peter Kozma's true calling is as a bench player.

Kozma, who made a pair of crucial errors early in Game 1 of the World Series, did not enter Game 2 until the top of the seventh inning. He has made the most of his short time on the field.

Kozma, who pinch-ran for Daniel Descalso, stole a base and scored a run in the Cardinals' half of the seventh and made a slick bare-handed play a half-inning later:

The Cardinals hold a 4-2 lead entering the top of the eighth inning.
