Shane Victorino injury: Red Sox OF scratched from lineup

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

Jonny Gomes will replace Victorino in the lineup, moving Daniel Nava from left field to right.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino has been scratched from the lineup with lower back tightness, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Victorino was scheduled to hit second in the lineup and play right field. Jonny Gomes will replace Victorino and play left field, moving Daniel Nava to right field. Nava will hit second in the lineup, with Gomes replacing at No. 5.

Here is the updated Red Sox lineup for Game 4, courtesy Jen McCaffrey of the Cape Cod Times:

The outfielder has been plagued by injuries for most of the year, spending time on the disabled list earlier in the season with hamstring tightness. Victorino has also been bothered by hip and back injuries, which have limited the switch-hitter to batting almost exclusively right-handed since August.

Victorino has also been hit by seven pitches during the postseason, and was drilled by a Carlos Martinez slider during the eighth inning of Game 3. He has hit .188/.304/.271 for Boston during the playoffs.
