The Athletics are using the same lineup that they employed in Game 2. Oakland only scored one run against Justin Verlander, but ended up winning 1-0. The Athletics official Twitter account sent out a picture their batting order:
Detroit will start Jhonny Peralta in left field, hoping to spark the Tigers offense. Peralta's only experience as a big-league outfielder came in the Tigers' three-game series to end the season against the Miami Marlins. Detroit's official Twitter account announced their starting nine:
#Tigers lineup: Jackson 8, Hunter 9, Cabrera 5, Fielder 3, Martinez DH, Peralta 7, Avila 2, Infante 4, Iglesias 6. Sanchez is starting.— Detroit Tigers (@tigers) October 7, 2013
First pitch is scheduled for 1:07 p.m. ET, with coverage of the game on MLB Network.
