Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera took home two of the top MLB Player's Choice awards on Monday, earning American League Most Outstanding Player and overall Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season.
Cabrera has earned the respect of his peers by being arguably the most feared hitter in the game for two years running. Cabrera followed his Triple Crown-winning 2012 campaign by hitting .348/.442/.636 with 42 home runs for the AL Central champions in 2013.
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen was voted as the Most Outstanding Player for the National League. He has won the award in back-to-back seasons. McCutchen, who was the NL MVP in 2012, hit .317/.404/.508 with 21 homers and 27 steals for the Bucs, leading the team to its first winning record and postseason berth since 1992.
