Werth was removed from the lineup with flu-like symptoms.

The Washington Nationals scratched outfielder Jayson Werth from Saturday's lineup with flu-like symptoms, per James Wagner of the Washington Post.

Werth worked with physical therapist Dr. Keith Payne prior to the game. According to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post, Payne and Werth have worked together in the past. However, when asked what Payne was working on, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said a little bit of everything, according to Amanda Comak of the Washington Times.

Werth missed 28 games earlier in the season due to a strained hamstring. That injury has kept him from running at full speed at times. Johnson said he didn't think the hamstring was acting up, reports the Washington Post.

Since returning from the disabled list June 4, Werth has hit .250/.318/.433 over 16 games.

The Nationals replaced Werth in the lineup with Steve Lombardozzi, who will play left field. Roger Bernadina will move from left to right field.
