MLB 2013 Futures Game rosters announced

Kolten Wong - Scott Rovak-US PRESSWIRE

Baseball reveals the participants in the annual prospects showcase.

Major League Baseball has revealed the rosters for the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game, the annual prospect showcase that has been played prior to the All-Star Game for the past 15 years. A total of 50 players from all 30 farm systems will be competing as part of rosters split into United States and World teams.

The game is typically a spotlight for players who routinely show up on top prospects lists, and this year's crew is no different. Among the top prospects competing in the game will be pitchers Archie Bradley (Diamondbacks), Taylor Guerrieri (Rays), and Taijuan Walker (Mariners); infielders Delino DeShields (Astros), Kolten Wong (Cardinals), Xander Bogaerts (Red Sox), Francisco Lindor (Indians), and Miguel Sano (Twins); and outfielders Jorge Soler (Cubs), Oscar Taveras (Cardinals), Billy Hamilton (Reds), George Springer (Astros), Byron Buxton (Twins), and Christian Yelich (Marlins). Complete rosters can be found here.

For the first time, fans will be able to vote on the final roster spots, as they do for the major-league All-Star team. Five candidates will compete for the chance to join manager Mookie Wilson's U.S. team: outfielders Tyler Austin (Yankees), Nick Castellanos (Tigers), Courtney Hawkins (White Sox), and Brandon Nimmo (Mets), as well as third baseman Garin Cecchini (Red Sox).

Candidates to join Edgardo Alfonzo's World team are first baseman Ji-Man Choi (Mariners), second baseman Rougned Odor (Rangers), third baseman Renato Nunez (A's), and shortstops Javier Baez (Cubs) and Carlos Correa (Astros).

The game will take place at 2 p.m. ET on All-Star Sunday, July 14, at Citi Field in New York.
