2013 MLB Draft results: Pick Nos. 37-39

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles, Reds, and Tigers went with a prep player, and two college relievers respectively.

No. 37: CF Josh Hart, Baltimore Orioles

A toolsy-outfielder, Josh Hart will bring some needed upside to the Orioles' system. Keith Law of ESPN described Hart as "swing is short and quick, geared for contact but not power thanks to a flat finish. He's an above-average runner, not a burner." He should provide the system with some upside, but he could take a while to develop.

No. 38: RHP Michael Lorenzen, Cincinnati Reds

On the mound, Lorenzen possesses a potential 80-grade fastball, sitting comfortably in the mid-90, according to Baseball America. With a curveball that is good enough to be a solid complementary pitch, Lorenzen profiles as a classic two-pitch reliever with closer potential.

Lorenzen was previously selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the seventh round of the 2010 Draft out of high school. He also played outfield in college at Cal State Fullerton.

No. 39: RHP Corey Knebel, Detroit Tigers

With a good fastball and curveball, Knebel was very successful as the closer for the Texas Longhorns. He should move quickly through the minors, and could help the Tigers in their bullpen very soon. Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com described Knebel as a "tall right-hander (who) gets it done with a good two-pitch power combination, a fastball that hits the mid-90s and a downer curve with bite that's a true out pitch. Knebel has the "give me the ball" mentality you want to see in the ninth inning."
