MLB released the pool of American League players eligible for the 2013 All-Star Final Vote on Saturday. Fans will have the chance to vote for one of five right-handed relievers for the final spot on the American League roster.
Steve Delabar of the Toronto Blue Jays, David Robertson of the New York Yankees, Koji Uehara of the Boston Red Sox, Tanner Scheppers of the Texas Rangers and Joaquin Benoit of the Detroit Tigers are the five pitchers on AL Final Vote Ballot.
Four of the five relievers own sub-2.00 ERAs: Scheppers (1.48), Delabar (1.58), Benoit (1.78) and Uehara (1.94). Robertson has been no slouch, posting a 2.32 ERA.
Four of the five relievers have also fanned more batters than innings pitched this season: Benoit (11.21 K/9), Delabar (12.83), Uehara (12.65) and Robertson (11.53).
All five relievers started the season in set-up roles, but Uehara and Benoit have taken over the closer positions for their respective teams. Benoit has six saves since taking over in Detroit, while Uehara has collected five saves for Boston.
Fans can vote for their favorite player until 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. Click here to view the ballot.
