The Rangers placed DH Lance Berkman on the DL Sunday, as he injured his left hip legging out a groundball in Saturday's game, reports Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Berkman, 37, is hitting .254 with a .734 OPS this season for the Rangers, doing so mostly in a DH role. He played for the Cardinals for two seasons before coming to Texas, but he has not repeated his success from St. Louis in Arlington.
Tepesch, 24, has an ERA of 4.85 this year over 16 starts. He has a 70/23 K/BB ratio, and has allowed 11 home runs. Burns, 25, pitched 3 2/3 innings earlier this year for the Padres, striking out three and walking two.
Soria, 29, has been one of the better relievers in baseball throughout his career when healthy, but he has not pitched in a major league game since 2011. Berkman has not performed up to his past standards, but he has still been a decent offensive player for a Rangers team that has struggled this year to score runs at times.
