USA TODAY Sports

Buxton is one of two Twins prospects ranked in the Top-5 by Baseball America.

Baseball America ranked Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton as the top prospect in baseball in their midseason update of the Top 50 Prospects.

Buxton spent most of the season in Low-A Cedar Rapids. The outfielder had a dominant season in the Midwest League, hitting .341/.431/.559 in 323 plate appearances. The Twins recently promoted Buxton to High-A Fort Myers, and the 19-year-old has looked unfazed by the promotion, hitting .364/.378/.477 in his first 45 plate appearances.

Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts came in at No. 4, the first of four Red Sox to appear on the list, while Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor rounded out the top five.

Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Dylan Bundy tumbled from the No. 2 spot in the pre-season rankings to the No. 17 position in the mid-season rankings. Bundy underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear in his elbow.
