The Phillies left-hander has already missed two month this season with a strained quadriceps tendon in his left knee, and according to Berry this latest injury has similar symptoms.  Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told Berry:

"It appears that he has similar symptoms to those he experienced earlier this season with tendinitis of the patellar tendon. We will conduct a repeat MRI and will know more about his injury once the MRI is performed. It seems likely that he is headed back to the disabled list."

2013 has been a difficult season for Lannan. After being non-tendered by the Washington Nationals over the off-season, Lannan signed a one-year deal with the Phillies for $2.5 million. Making 14 starts with Philadelphia, Lannan has a record of 3-6 with a 5.33 ERA.
