John Rocker was once considered a high-quality reliever in the majors, but then he opened his mouth. His infamous Sports Illustrated interview from 1999, where he basically ripped all of New York for being something other than uniformly white and straight, was the start of his downfall, which ended with Rocker out of the majors at the age of 28 just four seasons later.
He's shown up in the spotlight since, continuing to talk about politics, and now has a job as a radio analyst for ESPN Radio and Sporting News Radio. This all brought him to Reddit, where he's in the midst of an Ask Me Anything session: as you would expect, given his viewpoints, he's getting pummeled.
Don't worry, though, he's got jokes about your mother's basement and your girlfriend to get him through the day! If you don't want to go through the entire thread, here's a taste.
Kind of upset John Rocker hasn't actually had to fight "an entire city" yet.
"Seriously, he gave me this painting of Centaur John Rocker for Christmas last year."
And my personal favorite:
My only regret is that this isn't on the main Reddit page, because then there would be thousands of comments trying to destroy him instead of a few hundred.
