Both teams finished the season 91-71 and will meet in Texas for a tiebreaker game on Monday.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers both won their regular season finales on Sunday and will meet in Texas on Monday for Game 163.

Tampa Bay played the Toronto Blue Jays in the early game, escaping the Rogers Centre with a 7-6 victory. The Rays scored six runs in the first inning and held a 7-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Blue Jays nearly mounted an impressive comeback. Fernando Rodney ended up recording the four-out save, his 37th save of the season.

Texas received a solid start Yu Darvish and 3 1/3 shutout innings from its bullpen, earning a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Darvish held the Angels to two runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out eight. Neal Cotts, Robbie Ross, Tanner Scheppers and Joe Nathan closed out the game for Texas. Craig Gentry helped spark the Rangers offense, going 2-for-3 with two singles, two RBI, one walk, two stolen bases and a run scored.

The Rangers edged the Rays 4-3 in their season series, giving Texas home-field advantage in the tiebreaker game. Game 163 will start at 8:07 p.m. ET, with coverage coming on TBS.

The winner of the tiebreaker game will play the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 8:07 p.m. ET. The Indians secured the No. 1 seed on Sunday with a 5-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.
