Felix Hernandez recorded his 1,800th career strikeout against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. At 28 years old, Hernandez already has more strikeouts than several active pitchers that are older than him, like Zack Greinke, Justin Verlander, Tim Lincecum and Cole Hamels. Only 12 pitchers in baseball history have struck out 2,000 hitters or more before turning 30 -- including Walter Johnson, Sam McDowelll, Bert Blyleven, Don Drysdale, Nolan Ryan, Sandy Koufax and Bob Feller.
Hernandez struck out 15 on the day in seven innings and the Seattle Mariners scored five runs in the ninth inning to win, 5-0.
