St. Louis Cardinals' 22-year-old right-hander Michael Wacha threw a no-hitter against the Washington Nationals through 8 2/3 tonight in Busch Stadium, before Ryan Zimmerman reached on an infield single. The 2-0 loss left the Nationals 84-74.

Davey Johnson's still running his A lineup out there after the Nationals were mathematically eliminated last night. Can the Nats break the St. Louis Cardinals' five-game win streak which goes back to last October's NLDS and this past April in D.C.

The Nationals were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention last night. Davey Johnson's "World Series or Bust!" final season didn't go as planned and the big hole the Nats dug themselves early proved too deep to climb out of in the end.

Tanner Roark hadn't given up a home run in 46+ innings of work at the major league level this year before Cardinals' right fielder Carlos Beltran's two-run blast in the fifth and it ended up driving in the winning run in the Nationals 4-3 loss.
